MP Recall

Over the past few weeks I have received a large number of letters and emails regarding MP Recall and whether I would be supporting it. As a result, I thought it would be of some use to post my thoughts on the Recall of MPs Bill, which completed its passage through Committee stage on Monday.

Bob Neill submits proof of evidence in the lead up to Porcupine appeal

As many of you will know, Lidl’s appeal against the London Borough of Bromley’s refusal of planning permission will begin on Tuesday 30 September at 10:00. In the lead up to the appeal, I have again formally raised my objections to the proposal through a proof of evidence, the text of which can be found below.

Waste 4 Fuel – MPs meet with Secretary of State at Defra

Last Thursday James Brokenshire, Jo Johnson and myself met with the Environment Secretary, The Rt Hon Elizabeth Truss MP, to discuss the ongoing problems at the Waste 4 Fuel site on Cornwall Drive. The meeting was organised on the back of our joint letter to the Prime Minister at the beginning of July, in which we highlighted our very serious concerns of the way the Environment Agency (EA) have policed this particular site.

Mottingham Scam Awareness

This morning Bob Neill looked in at the Mottingham Community and Learning Shop for a scam awareness event. Although local police forces are doing a fantastic job in curbing the large majority of scams in our area, it can never hurt to be aware and in the know on such issues.

Giving people a final say on our relationship with the EU

Earlier today Bob Neill was drawn as the top Conservative Member in the Private Members’ Bill ballot.  He was pleased to announce that he will be introducing an EU Referendum Bill to legislate for an in-out vote by the end of 2017.

Great day at the Open Gardens Norlands

On Sunday Bob Neill visited the Open Gardens Norlands in aid of St Christopher’s Hospice. Thirteen brilliant gardens were on display, and a total of £3, 000 was raised for this worthy cause.

Shortlands Station Fun Day

On Saturday Bob Neill looked in at Shortlands station to support Bromley Southeastern trains station staff at their charity fun day. They raised over £1,500 for our fantastic local Demelza Children's Hospice - on top of £4,000 raised earlier in the year. Well done!
