David Cartwright

Borough Councillor for Mottingham and Chislehurst North
Born in 1949, David was educated at Colfe's School in London and, after a short spell in local government, joined the London Fire Brigade as an operational officer and, over a 30 year career, rose to be Assistant Commissioner.

He was awarded the Queen's Fire Service Medal for distinguished service in 1991 and currently serves on the London Fire and Emergency Planning Authority.

Married with 3 children (all educated locally), David is a Governor of Dorset Road School and has campaigned alongside other residents to save the Porcupine Public House.

He runs a small family wine business based in Borough Market and his interests include rugby, golf and music.
